A Maverick 88 has the same design flaw as the Mossberg 500.

We get it, you'd rather have a clunky, heavy, Chi-Com made POS instead of a shotgun that was used for decades without major issues by the Army and Marines.

You're still more likely to experience the "design flaw" of an 870 by getting a shell trapped between the lifter and bolt IME. All you have to do is not get a shell pushed in far enough to seat under the latch before releasing it for that to happen and then you'll be removing the trigger group to clear.

Bristoe already knows that the H&Aren't is a great shotgun and any design flaws can be remedied by him.

Enjoy.

The real question is, what kind of design flaws does the H&R Pardner have? 😁

Pardner Pump is built like a tank. A good gun and better finished than an 870 Express.

Would not buy again and certainly not for serious work. That's why they make Mossberg 500s.

Mossberg 500's are fine unless you drop one and the shell lifter comes loose from the receiver.
Yeah well that's about as likely as winning the lottery.

You don't have to look hard to find a video that demonstrates it.

I've been abusing Mossberg 500's for 35 years, and the only thing that seems to break is the safety button.

Why anyone would be intrigued with a Chicom made POS shotgun is beyond me. You looking for a YUGO to piddle with too?

That 590 has "good time" written all over it. What laser did you put on it?

You guys are gun snobs. I've had a Mossberg 500 AHTD trap model for over 30 years and have has ZERO problems with it.
If the O P wants an inexspensive gun, the H & R is not bad. It's not as heavy as a Model 12 and will work if you take care of it.

An informed person replaces the plastic safety with a steel one from Brownell's immediately upon purchase.

I just sold/traded one of the compact 20 gauge, 21" barrel models. Seem functional for a house gun; probably make a decent turkey gun with correct choke. A bit heavy; 6.5lbs. Guy offered me 10 boxes of CCI Blazer 9mm and $50. Snatched it up since the ammo is selling for $40+ a box and I paid $60 for the shotgun.

Crimson trace universal rail mount laser. POA=POI at ten. Shooting mini-slugs from the hip is awesome.

The red safety is an aluminum replacement.

Another pump in that range is the Savage Stevens 320 Security. Its chinese made , a knockoff of a Winchester I think.

I don't know if they still sell it or not.

I just read that the barrel isn't steel on it magnetic. Yikes
