I would like to do an early season Kansas muzzleloader hunt or a late season Nebraska muzzleloader hunt.

Any outfitter recommendations will be appreciated. Would like to stay at 4K or below for a guided hunt.

I realize Kansas is a draw and Nebraska is otc. I see many outfitters on line, but the folks at the “Fire” usually give solid feedback.

Thanks

Independent of outfitter, my recommendation is Kansas. Unless Nebraska is substantially closer to you.

Nebraska late season is tough, especially if weather is frigid.

Having hunted the ML season multiple times in each state, and all things being equal, I'd go the opposite route.
Granted none of my hunts were with an outfitter but I'd hunted some pretty good ground in each state.

While trophy potential might be better in KS, so is the wonderful potential for temps in the high 80's-90's, skeeters and fall allergies (if applicable).........I hate all three of these things so perhaps I'm projecting laugh

Much depends on the outfitter and their ground though. Bad can be found in both states.

Do you have any expectations on trophy quality and what state are you traveling from?

Nebraska ML season is the entire month of December, so it could be warm or it could be cold, who knows?

There is very little hunting pressure during ML season for a variety of reasons, one being that there is very little public land in NE and most landowners are reluctant to allow anyone who isn't family or friend to trespass.

In addition to KS and NE, you might find better chances of tagging a wall hanger in IA than either KS or NE.

EHD hit us really hard here in NE several yrs ago and really hurt our big buck populations however things are improving with milder winters better spring & summer weather for fresh water.

We hunt Custer County which is in the North central part of the state, dead deer numbers were off the charts our local biologist/warden estimated a 75% white tail kill in the surrounding area..

Recovery lately has been good for numbers just not enough time to build back the wall hanger populations..

I meant to add this to my post. If I was looking to do a ML hunt, IA is the basket I'd put my eggs. And depending on the unit, might even be able to draw without a preference point.
