Visited the local gun shop yesterday for the first time in many months, I'm well stocked and was curious to see what had changed since I'd been there. Mostly empty shelves where rifles, handguns, ammo, and reloading supplies had been. I did notice they had a couple 1000pc boxes of Federal GM210M. This surprised me, as I remember them being had to come by when I started a few years ago during what I didn't know was a shortage at the time. Price was 10.99, with a sign explaining that 10.99 was for a 100 round tray, not the 1000 box. Wow. Pretty sure when I stocked up it was about $35 per 1000. I havent seen gouging prices in this store before, and bullets were all the same prices I remember. Is it like that everywhere with primers?

It's just like gas, the station could have 25000 gallons that they paid $1.50 a gallon for and when they hear gas prices are going up they rake ya on the 25000 gallons that they bought at a cheaper price by raising that price.

No it's not everywhere some of the stores around here are getting trickle down supply from their regular suppliers so prices on that stuff is only a little higher. My local LGS is independent dealer with multiple suppliers gets stuff where ever he can and has to pass on some he could have at outrageous prices but then he either does without or passes on the cost to customers. It's hard to keep your help working if you have nothing to sell. The way it is. Mb

Found some at 3.99 this morning. Doubt that they're still there.

$109 may soon become a very reasonable price for primers.

I just bought a 1000 Fed 210M last month for $35. Id say that’s fair. I expect prices to increase but hopefully not double or triple in price.

You better buy a truckload at that price....doubt it will ever be cheaper again.

Not primers, but I've found powder to be more than twice the price in one store over another. The local farmer store had powder for $25/lb. The store in the city had same powder for nearly $50.

But that $50/lb powder will sell in a couple of days.

I prefer classic.

Where is this local farmer store? I'll take a trip to SD.

I'll give you 25 for them. Plus modest shipping fees.

The last time I bought primers was around the middle of last year. I was on the local Academy's web site and just happened to see CCI 250 primers listed. When I clicked on it, they indicated they were in stock for around $3.50/100. So, I purchased 1,000 on-line and then went to the store to pick them up. I could not believe how easy this was. Of course, that was then, this is now. I just checked and they are out of the primers for which I checked availability. So, yes, I think we are going to see much higher prices for such things - supply and demand.

A person with great faith in humanity might consider the possibility that the store paid scalper prices themselves just to have some stuff on hand for their customers and simply passed it on in their price. Last time, one local store kept prices the same, but limited you to one tray of each type to keep them available to all. Other stores also had limits, but jacked the prices to about $8 per 100. Who can say for certain? If you need some, you’ll pay, but it would be foolish to stock up at those prices. Eventually, it’ll get better.

I can understand that a small business would struggle to stay open and keep employees on with little to nothing to sell. Was in a very small store yesterday, and they had some ammo and mostly ARs for sale. Lot of customers in there, considering what was on the shelves and in the racks.

What fresh Hell is this?
