I own a stainless Savage Storm. Very accurate, but action is not very smooth. Sits beside the back door in case a critter, coyote, hog, etc shows up across the pond.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Haven't seen a LH Sako. That would be a good score.

Seriously? I was looking for a CZ 527 just this morning.

I still dont understand why CZ can not design a .223 that has an internal magazine that is flush with the bottom of the stock and can hold 4 rounds. Owned a CZ .204 and .223 and could never warm up to the look.

I'm concerned about the future of LH rifles at CZ. There are no LH rimfire rifles shown on their website currently. Only 1 LH 527 and that is in 223. This isn't going the right direction for lefties of the world.

Seems most lefties are there own worse enemy. We have the dedicated hard core shooters like the ones on this forum but for the most part lefties buy right hand rifles. In the last few years lost the Ruger stainless line, all Remingtons, and now most of what CZ used to build. Before that Winchester caved and ended production. Main brands now are Tikka, Browning, Savage, Sako, Cooper and a Ruger now and then. Looks like things are getting worse than better.

Kurt, No Ruger 223 for me. I do own a Savage Storm. Itβs accurate, trigger is decent, no creep and breaks around 4 pounds. Typical not very smooth Savage action. It has a small roll to fill and that is to sit beside the back door in case I see a yote, coon, skunk, etc across the pond. Randy

As mentioned, Cooper does make a single shot bolt action, as well as the bolt action repeater in 223. And Dakota makes the Predator round action. All of those are higher cost than the Tikka for sure, but accuracy is pretty much a given.
The Tikka Sporter is one I have looked at in the past. But, it's sort of an oddball. No doubt the accuracy would be incredible. I suppose it could be restocked, but that's an expensive barreled action donor.

Had a CZ 527 American did not like the ring height for the bolt clearance later models supposedly had the bolt changed for lower clearance.

Just had a bit of a surprise. I have a RAR Predator in 6.5 CM and removed the barreled acton so I could begin to sand down the barrel channel of the stock. I looked at the trigger (for the 1st time) and noticed it is a Timney trigger. I may have known this and simply forgot but it still surprised me.

I've heard others here pour something into the compartments of these inexpensive stock forearms in order to firm them up. Has anyone done this and if so, what product did you use or see used? Thanks.
