I like 99’s too, don’t have a bolt, but shoot as well as one.

An alternative title for this thread could have been: "Make me feel bad about myself and my rifle collection" laugh

I’ll agree with what someone else said.........Even if I knew how to post pictures, I wouldn’t! Not with all those I’ve seen on this thread. My rifles would all want to go hide some place.

No full-bore customs in my safe, but some decent stuff nonetheless. I guess my nicest rifles would be my M70 Super Grade in .280, my Miroku repro Winchester 52, and a custom Model Seven in 6mm Remington.

My 52 has some of the nicest wood I've seen on one of these, if I say so myself. It wears a Weaver Grand Slam 4-16x these days. Nice scope.

My Super Grade in .280 is now living in a B&C Medalist, but the original stock is still around. It's nothing too special, but okay for a factory rifle and has pretty nice wood. It too no longer wears a Leupold, but a Sightron SII 3-9x42mm.

This little Model Seven in 6mm Remington came to me in a B&C Medalist stock, so it's not all that glamorous...but I really like the rifle. It has a Krieger barrel and has a Sako-style extractor. It's a little more difficult to shoot a good group with it due to its light weight, but when I'm good it is good too. I mounted a Sightron SII Big Sky 3.5-10x50mm on it which I like very much.

Very nice gentleman.
My top for beauty is a Husqvarna imperial grade 7mm mag. I bought it out of a closing gun shop in 76. It has resided in my gun room since, never been used or fired. Just cleaned twice a year.
When I get the picture thing figured out here I will post it.

Three "nicest" for what? Target shooting on a warm, dry day? Hunting in the rain or snow? Busting through brush or hunting the barren plains? Hunting from a stand or carrying for miles at a time up mountains and down? Prettiest or most functional?

Sold my prettiest rifle, a Ruger #1 in 280 Rem, because it was too pretty for my needs - a fair weather rifle and not one I wanted to get knocked around hunting elk. For "nicest", I go with "most functional". That would be a close race but a synthetic-stocked rifle that shoots great would be my choice.

My Ruger All Weather (stainless/synthetic) Hawkeye in 280 Rem would be the runner up. It can bang the 6" steel at 600 yards with ease, is relatively light weight and easy on the shoulder. It will easily put down anything I want to shoot, from varmints to elk.

The winner, though, would be my stainless Ruger MKII 30-06. It came in a laminate stock that I replaced with a Ruger "boat paddle". Like its siblings, a 300WM and 338WM, I've used it to shoot clay pigeons on the 600 yard berm. It is the one in the middle of the photo below. The 300WM is on the left, the 338WM on the right.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.

A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

All my guns were lost in a boating accident, so I am glad I took a few photos just to remember them by...

I'm assuming *all* of these were lost in canoe accidents long, long ago.
