Wifey and I play 42 with another couple once a month. We play moon ( it’s somewhat like 42, just counting tricks) with my son for money sometimes.

I play straight dominos at work once in a while.

Anyone else play dominos?

42 is big in the family. Shoot the moon was big as a teen, drinking beer illegally
in the back room of the pool hall. The history of how "42" came about is interesting.

Used to set them up and tip them over and enjoy how they tip the next one etc.
Never played the game nor known anyone who did.

Played straight dominos as a kid with my pap. Never learned any other version. I’d like to play. I used to like Euchre and Pinochle as well but all the people who played are 30 years older than me or dead.

Bones! I ordered a second set last week, I'm taking them to work. Just found out a couple of my coworkers are big into it.

Moon is more of a play for money game. We play for 5 bucks a game, 5 bucks per hickey( if you bid six and only get 5, you get a hickey)

Come from a long line of count domino players. My great Gramps has dominoes and guys sitting around a table shaking bones on his tombstone. Many a family get together was spent rattling bones and talking schiet. Great uncles were master cheaters, they got more pleasure out of getting away with cheating than they did from winning.

And just for Slumlord.
When I was a kid my Gramps had a little trailer mud house he’d bought and had set in his back yard for a domino shack. Had a wood burning stove in the corner and one lightbulb on a string hanging above the table, no windows. I’d go out to watch the guys play in there and the smoke from cigars, cigarettes, and the stove would be thick as pea soup and hanging about 6” above the table. Gramps would open the door on the woodburner and toss in a chunk of pallet or whatever scrap lumber followed by a long strip cut off of an old inner tube with his jackknife. Stack on that little stove looked like a freighter pulling a grade with that black smoke rolling out of it.

last Game of Dominos I played was with Pops on his bed in a Nursing home in Sept 2019. He's gone now. Some of my earliest memories as a kid are watching Dad and Gramps playing Dominos and card games on a picnic table in a backyard patio. I can still almost smell their cigarettes

I used to play with the groids.

Lots of fun.

I prefer it to cards.

Usually associated with a weekend fish fry or bbq..

Used to have a game going every weekend, but everyone has kinda got to busy ...

Or skert of the China flu or something

Gonna see if we can rejuvenate some interest when the weather warms up some...

My college buddy from Connecticut used to give me the same answer when I’d ask him if he wanted to play dominoes or if he wanted to go fishing. “Na, that’s for Kneegas”
