I’m looking at the 2.5-15 x 50 to mount on a coyote rifle and give the Kahles to my son’s buddy who has a POS scope.’

It’s priced at soured $599.

I’m also considering the Allrounder ($1,399) on my 6.5x55.
I have their 8x43 APG Binoculars and really like them.

Any experience with lower priced MINOX and the Allrounder?

Only with the ZV budget scopes and they have surprisingly good glass, I have had no issues with three of them. Used the Minox BA 8x30 and they just didn't stand out although they were acceptable. I was alternating them with a pair of Leica Trinovids so not a really fair comparison, also a Zeiss Terra which had it beat also, but not by a lot. These were 8x40 so that alone could give the edge to the Zeiss.

I have been interested in the other scopes as the entry level one was so good. Not sure why they are not more popular.

I have several ZA 5 1 x 6's, 1.5 x 8's, and 2 x 10's. I bought these about 2 or 3 years ago and at the time I ranked them as the vest value per buck for my eyes. I have a 1 x 6 on a 375 Ruger with zero issues and I have had zero issues with any of them. Needless to say, I like them a lot to buy so many of them.

They are bright, clear, and quite usable scopes.

I have compared them with the Alpha glass on my other go-to rifles and during bright sunlight conditions, are not bad at all. Comparing the alpha glass scopes in low light conditions, like dusk and dawn, especially the S&B 8x56, there is a huge difference in visibility, like 15 minutes or so depending on the model.

Apparently they don’t have it in stock. Wait and see and if not available, I’ ll take a look at the Allrounder.

Bear Basin is showing a lot of ZA5 scopes in stock. No 2.5-15x50 but several 3-15x50.

Don't trust the Bear Basin website for what is and what isn't in stock. They still show a ton of Docter scopes, which have not been made in years and which they have not had a single model of since at least 2015. The site will allow you to put in cart and purchase-- with your card being charged -- even though they do not have the item and have no means of ever getting the item.

Anyway, caveat emptor.

Thanks Bobby. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a ZA5 when Meopta has several offerings in that price range.

abbydog, I have a ZA5 HD 2-10x40 #4 that I'd be willing to part with. I think i mounted it on a rifle, changed my mind, and took it off, so there is very light ring marks on the tube. Being a veteran, I was getting a smokin deal on the Cabelas Instinct when they were being sold out around the time Bass Pro bought them. PM me if you are interested.

I went Coyote hunting this morning with the ZA -5. Clarity is excellent, I was impressed. I gave the Kahles Helia to my son’s friend, he was ecstatic to have a scope better than his SImmons.
I did purchase a MINOX spotting scope on EBAY and hope to get it next week.

Not to mention...I bought a minox from them years ago. Scope was defective right out of the box. Guy was a total dick about returning it, and took like a month to get me money back. Haven't looked at minox or bear basin since...

I agree, they have product for sale that has been discontinued for years. Not a good business plan on their part. THe MINOX was the only scope i tried to order because no one else had one. I bought a preowned in perfect condition from Driggy on the site, couldn’t be happier. It’s on my Savage A17. That website is off my radar.

Camerlandy only unless they don’t offer what I’m looking for.

I purchased some minox zA 5 2x10 x 40 with ballistic reticles.

The thickness of the reticles may be objectionable to some. Too thick perhaps.

But for glass, adjustment, holding zero, warranty...........absolutely no complaints.

Best value non illuminated scopes I own IMO.

I love mine. As said by a fire member “an under appreciated scope”.

Glad your're happy with the Minox. I have used some of their stuff and do feel they got overlooked. Now that they are under Blaser's umbrella, I doubt they will make a hard push to be a serious player in the market. Good for you for helping your son's buddy out. He should be set for life with that Helia. I might have given him the Minox and kept the Kahles though. Kahles makes a great scope

Kahles was and older scope that I sent to Swarovski two years ago for a tune up and repair a spun torrent. He really deserved it, he was using an old Simmons you could barely see through, He thought he died and went to heaven. I bartered a few hours of electrician time when i need it. I really wanted to try out the MINOX, really like the 8x43 APG BINOCULARS.
If the need arises I would like to purchase another of their scopes.
