The luxury of small town living. Groceries stores have a Counter of assorted items. 5 / $19.99.

To help your Monies go further.

Y’all uppity folks that shop at Pubix, HEB, Fred Mayer’s, Kroger are missing out.

One of our groceries is a cost + 10% outfit.

Today’s score,

Redhots. Tub of Mrs Stauffers chicken salad. Souse. Hoop cheese. And some kinda pork.

Cha-Ching.

You’re a better man than me. I have my vices, not as many as I once had but good food is one of them.

I’m roasting a Prime New York roast right now. Medium rare after 30 minutes rest and gravy from the pan drippings and stock.

$4.99 + 10% today i think.

Every once in awhile they’ll get the black rind sharp in.

That’s the stuff.

.99 is a regular sale price on Butts, usually about 2 or 3 times a year.

If not on sale. Wooo wee, they try to break it off with 2.49 lb.

I always have about 10-12 butts in shop freezer.

Get strange looks at the market when you pile 15 or so butts in a cart.

I hear you on that. I got a buddy that can put salt on his bacon, and it doesn't bother him a bit. He's in his mid 70's. Don't have a clue how he can get away with it, other than luck-of-the-draw when it comes to genes.

My momma never was able to buy us any of that high falutin' potted meat stuff when we was kids.

Always did git biscuits with a little mustard on 'em though.

In Twin Falls, maybe, bunch of Dutch dairymen over there. They'll put the Wisconsin Cheeseheads to shame. My daughter is is Wisconsin and sends over a care package occasionally (did I raise that one right, or what?). People around here think mozzarella is "kinda strong tasting".

Costco carries Tillamook. One of my major weaknesses, but easily dealt with at $6 /lb.

Not a weakness around here, more like an addiction. Cheese in general. I find some good sharp tasting stuff at the local Grocery Outlet. If I buy a big chunk of the Tillamook at the Costco my wife eats it and complains I'm trying to fatten her up.

Them folks in WI must have migrated there from NW PA. Those folks thought garlic in the pasta sauce made it too "spicy". Salt and a little black pepper was about all they could handle on their head cheese and scrapple.

Go to the Amish grocery and get you some of this. Package says Walnut Creek, but ignore that. It's real-by-gawd gubbermint cheese. Best schitt ever.
