Thinking of getting the above for one of my coyote calling rifles. I do want that level of magnification. And I was thinking the 50 mm would be good for low light conditions.

What’s the opinion on the VX3i line of Leupold scopes?

Thanks

I’ve had mixed results with tracking but the glass is very good.

+1

Research FOV with that one. Seems I remember something about that, don’t have one.

Just got my second Leupold back because tracking tanked. They fix them, good CS.

Glass is pretty good.

They’re sleek and light weight compared to some.

I had one on my.270. Glass is good. Very lofhtweight scope. Eye box is tight on high mag. You might have to use higher rings than normal on a Picatinny tail to adjust proper eye relief on max magnification.

Not Leupold, but a Burris E1 4.5-14x42 gets pretty dim at 14x under overcast sky, so going with a bigger objective is a good idea. Might still need to turn it down a touch in dim light. I had the VX-3i 3.5-10 for a bit, and it worked well for as long as I had it. Crapshoot, I guess.

I went with a Trijicon Credo HX 2.5-10x56 for the bigger exit pupil, but it’s a 25oz monster. Nice scopes though.

What fresh Hell is this?

I had a Bushnell 6500 Elite, 2.5-16x42 that did similar. Glass was equivalent to the VX-3 if not better. Eyebox would get pretty tight at higher power. At dim light, I'd have to cut powder back to get adequate vision. It went down the road, I think the 50mm version would have been better.

I've never owned a Trijicon rifle scope, have handled a few. I bet that is a great glass, although they are heavier than Leupold.
