Looking to stock a new purchase. 300 SAUM Model Seven with stainless 22 inch factory magnum contour barrel. With the longer heavier barrel what have you found that makes for a nice balance? I don’t have any aftermarket stock experience, have an H-S on order for a mountain rifle but haven’t seen it yet to know how much I’ll like it. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I have the exact same rifle. I put a bell and carlson full bedded block stock on it and i like it. The stock lightened up the rifle and improved the accuracy I think. It has kind of a heavy wrist on it though. I had to open up the barrel channel to get the magnum barrel to fit.

Run A McMillan Edge or Mountain Rifle Pattern i. Edge On Mine..

On my M7 CDL 350 mag., I put a Basner stock on it. I had to make a cutout for the magazine/ floorplate. Love it.

I just put a edge fill mountain rifle stock on mine. It has a 22” mountain rifle barrel and it would balance just fine with a heavier barrel. It’s still a pinch butt heavy but I do prefer a touch of weight forward feel.
