I have been looking at the 4.5-14x42 for an AR and a Tikka T3x lite 223. I've not had Burris before but I see a lot of peopleon here recommendthem. Whats the difference in the 2? Looks like nothing but about $40 more for the Fullfield?

Fullfield II IMO was worth the difference.

Both are made in the Philippines.

Other than that I don’t know the difference(s).

I’d spend the extra $40 for FFII which is a proven scope.

The FFii was somewhat my pick because of the lower profile and smoother looking turrets.

I only have (2) Droptines, both 3-9 with .22 reticle. Glass looks to be the same as the Fullfields I've had.

My last two scopes have been Burris. A 3-9 Droptine RF and a 3-9 FF. Besides the whole ocular turning to change power, I haven't noticed a difference. The FF has a track record for toughness so if the power ring isn't a turn off, I'd probably go with it for a centerfire.

Are they still making the FF II? They look to be out of stock and/or on clearance everywhere.

I had an older American Burris. Was looking at a scope for 2 new rifles. Bought a FFII on Saturday in looking through it and mounting it, I went back and bought another one this morning. My dealer had Droptine and FF II, he has them $25 or so apart. He told me they actually had a bigger margin on the DT, Mainly because all the DT had funky reticles and I wanted Ballistic Plex.

I'd go with the Fullfield II.

I had the same dilemma and talked to Burris about them. They are the same glass, coatings...
The turrets are different, multiple reticle offers. The rest is the same.

If you want an exposed top turret with ballistic plex 223 reticle, look at the MSR scope. It also has 42MOA of adjustment, two more than the other two scopes, the same glass.

I have several Droptines. I don't know about the FF scopes. Two of my Droptines have the G2B reticle. I thought at first glance it was too busy, but I have come to love it. They have dropped it from their line-up though.

I have a Droptine BDC reticle 4.5-14x42AO. Wish it was side focus because the AO makes the front bell over 50mm. Wish you could get it with a standard duplex. That said, I've had very good service from it on three different rifles.

From what I've seen, the MSR line is discontinued.

Does the whole ocular piece move when you adjust magnification? Does it do it on both?
