So the person who can send of our sons and daughters of to die in combat is uncomfortable with them providing security at his inauguration? This is way, way over the line. For those of us who look at servicemen as Patriots, this is truly disgusting.

I still cannot truly believe this. But according to sources the reason is this. 90% of the Guard is white male and that group voted 80% for Trump. Therefore, their skin color is their sin. You see, racial profiling is now ok if it is on whites who serve in the military.

God help us.

Looks like the inauguration is a great excuse, er, reason, to vet the troops and remove the "potential domestic terrorists".

Good thing Trump kept Wray as Director all these months.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

Trump should have done the same to both houses of congress for his inauguration day.

Likely no one will be issued ammo, so what is the concern?

To put this in perspective and with zero political spin on this, here is a reality check:

Anybody who is going to be working close to a VIP, diplomat, dignitary, etc is going to be vetted. National Guardsmen, Full time members of the military, Contractors, etc. Even Law Enforcement members who are assigned to work executive protection, or to assist in certain roles are checked. It is perfectly normal.

This may or may not come as a surprise to some, but there are a substantial number of gang members in the military and have been for years. There are Cartel members in the U.S. Military. Can you imagine the phenomenal crap storm that would happen if one of those gang/cartel members who happens to also be a National Guardsman killed or kidnapped a Senator or other VIP?

EVERYBODY would be screaming their heads off, saying "Why didn't you vet those people!", "How stupid are you?!?!" etc, etc. Since every one is a subject matter expert on high level dignitary protection, and are phenomenal Monday Morning QBs.

So, yes, Guardsmen are going to get vetted, even if they are never going to allow them into critical positions, or give them ammo for their rifles.

When the Tuskegee airmen were honored at the White House a while back by Trump, I wondered if he had them vetted by the FBI? I mean, African Americans didn’t vote for Trump in mass correct?

Again, this wasn’t triggered by normal security protocols that happen anyways. Everyone knows that. This was triggered mostly by what they look like and probably who they probably voted for.

This sends a terrible message.

But according to the vote counting machines, US Military personnel voted something like 98% for Biden. With such overwhelming support from the US Military, why the concern?

I don't like this socialist takeover any more than the next Freedom loving American, but this is "manufactured outrage" designed to get people mad.

It is clearly working

Even when I was working, doing some high level assignments with the .gov, I had to be vetted to do special assignments, and I was running a TS clearance..

Periodic vetting and special assignment vetting is good business practice. It keeps people safe. Making sure that Staff SGT Joe, who might have racked up a gambling debt of a few hundred grand in the last couple of years that he has not told his wife or employers about, and can't pay off, does not have an opportunity to work protecting Senator Smith who sits on the ABC Defense Committee, or has access to sensitive route information where an IED might be placed, or a kidnap might occur is smart field craft.

The phrase "assess avert achieve" used to be used as a mantra. If you avert a disaster, by never providing the enemy the opportunity, you win.

This isn't "business as usual". It's not normal for D.C. to be turned into a military base prior to an inauguration. It's not "standard operating procedure to have 25,000 troops stationed in D.C.

Who or what are they worried about?

Or, more properly, who do they want the American people to think of as a threat?

This is leftist insanity.
