Just recently completed a bucket list buy in acquiring a Weatherby MK V Accumark 30-378. I am well aware of how much recoil the rifle has and I was wondering what type scopes people are actually using on their 30-378. I would prefer someone that has a setup that works for them versus just an opinionated keyboard cowboy. I am looking for options of buying a scope without truly finishing off the bank by buying a scope that costs more than the rifle but definitely not going the cheapest route either. Somewhere mid range pricing that is going to stand up to the shock of the recoil to where I'm not constantly running through $125 box of ammo either re-sighting it in. I run Leupold VXL's on 3 of my other senderos and really love them. (300 Win, 300 Wby, 300 RUM) and have had no problems out of them except since they've been discontinued they are getting harder and harder to find someone willing to let go of them. I'm not going to be doing long range competition shoot so all the windage, compensation turrets winplex dots all that is very unimportant to me. I want a good dependable scope that will hold up to the shock without having to re-sight it in every time I shoot it. PM's work best for me and would love to see your 30-378 setups with details.
Thanks

Son In Law has a Leupold Mk4 6.5x20 on top his Weatherby 30-378 for past 6-8 years. AFAIK, no issues with scope/rifle holding zero.

I have the same scope on mine, works just fine, the reduction of recoil in the 165 grain bullet and the 180 is quite noticeable. If you have any issues with your rifle send me a PM, they are fantastic rifles in the right hand, and never ever fire your rifle with out ear protection while the muzzle brake is on the rifle, the muzzle blast is horrific !

I've shared the range with a number of braked rifles and a 30-378 with a Swiss cheese brake was the worst. A 338 Lapua with a shark gill brake was pleasant in comparison.

I have a Burris Verocity 4-20x50 on mine. It’s held zero and tracks well. My buddy has had a vari-x iii on his for close to 20 years. It’s also held zero.

I have a NF NX8 2.5-20 I love it. The other one I run on some of my Bee's is the Vortex RAZOR LHT 3x15. Only 19 ounces and it has great HD glass and the turrets work all the time...as opposed to Leupolds. If you're not dialing then a good set it and forget it scope will be ok. Heck even a Burris 4.5x14 fullfield will work! My 30-378 KCR MK 5

Why the hell would you ask him and invite him to a thread? Unless you want to cholera-ize the thread. First thing he will say is........ A Bee is a POS platform etc etc. He is a disease, with some gun knowledge ..........nothing more

This is the original break off of my 30- 378 , it was one of the first of these rifles built , when this happened the recoil let me know something bad happened, after we realized what had happened we searched for a long time looking for the break we gave up and cleaned up and got ready to leave we went to retrieve the targets that we had been shooting when we found where the break had went thru the 100 yard target about three inches to the right of the bullseye ! We got a shovel and dug it out of the backstop ! As you can see the original breaks, the taper started on the first round of holes making a week spot in the unit, they sent me new ones for the other two rifles I had at the time , and we never had another problem, but that gives you an idea of the force that these breaks experience during firing. They are great rifles, and a lot of fun to shoot !

I have two MV's Accumarks with brakes. 30-378 and 338-378 and never broke either brake. Sorry to hear of your bad experience. At least Weatherby took care of the problem.

I don't have a 30-378, but I have a Mod 70 in 300 RUM that I load to the nuts. I have a Bushnell 6500 4.5-30 on it since it was new in 02. Have put a lot of rounds through it and it has never changed zero since I sighted it in. And I don't use a brake either.
