I finally scrounged a couple of boxes of Holland's Super 30 for a nifty pre-64 Winchester M-70 I recently acquired. My problem is that three of the rounds had been fired... In a 300 Wetherby chamber.
Normally, I'd just discard the three cases, but these are NOT normal times!
So. My plan is to size the brass first in a 375 H&H die (Without the expander, of course), and then size in a 300 H&H sizing die, hopefully to restore the cases to their original dimensions.
Will my plan work? If not, can you advise me regarding a better way?

I'd give it a shot. Nothing to lose. I've used re-sized 375 brass in my 300 w/o problems.

Just run it through your 300 H&H FL sizer. Use plenty of grease. Then trim to length. Don't make it harder than it needs to be. A few years back I turned a whole bunch of new 300 Wby into 300 H&H with that method.

I heard you can safely fire 300 H&H factory rounds in a 300 Weatherby. Is that true?

It should work since the 300 WBY is basically an improved 300 H&H

Another way is to re-form 375H&H down to 300 H&H. 375 brass is far easier to get and less expensive then 300 H&H

Sure seems to be. I've got the brass to prove it!

DAM! I'd meant to check them, but forgot. Last time I was on their site, they were so far behind in shipping, they temporarily stoped. I live in Prescott; not far! Thanks!

What the hell is Lester doing with 300H&H brass? FYI last I checked his website, he wasn't accepting any new orders because he was so behind his existing orders.

I've run 30-06 thru a 308 die (and lots of Imperial) and while the case look pretty interesting, it was not destroyed and looked safe to fire.

I would anneal the cases as even if factory annealed it was probably the neck area and not very far down the shoulder. As said above lpts of lube but don't over do it. I dented a bunch of .264 cases swaging them down to ,257 Wby.

Yes. That's how people made .300 Weatherby brass back in the 1940s.

Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

I sized a 375 H&H AI to 300 H&H. I had to trim to length. (I've also made 22-250 brass out of 30-06 cases but that was a lark.)

I prefer classic.

Went to Bruno this AM and bought 200 pieces of Norma 300 H&H. Thanks again!

For clarification: Bruno Shooters is not accepting new orders on their site. Apparently, they are not answering their 'phone either -- I tried all day Tuesday, and it was constantly busy. (Off the hook?)

However, their store is open. Since I live about 80 miles away, I drove down and made the purchase in person. I saw lots of stuff on the shelves, but they didn't have any CFE-223, or small rifle primers, for example.

I write from what I saw, I am nOT speaking for Bruno Shooters Supply.

Roughman988: Good luck and keep your "stuck case remover" at hand!
Dealing with a "stuck case" without a quality stuck case remover is an exercise in futility.
Been there done that.
Again best of luck to you.
