I always heard the term "He's stump trained" about horses and mules.

A bird for passing messages for whilst your out and about, as opposed to the ones that only take messages to your home or rookery or coop or whatever.

Five or six. It's pretty common to see two saddle horses in the back of a pickup out here. One guy used to load his saddle mare right in the back of the 1/2 ton with no side racks. She must have ridden that way for 100s of accumulated miles.

I know a man who has some miniature horses, and he was at a local auction bidding on some round bales of hay to feed them with. I told him he was the first person I knew of to feed a bale of hay that was bigger than the animal eating it. Made him mad, I guess because he hasn't spoken to me since.

On the other hand maybe his brother told him that I said he must have more money than sense, because my thought was that miniature horses were about as stupid an idea as there was.
