Have had nothing but good luck with OP. Recently bought a high-end riflescope from them, for around $400 less than an online seller here on the 'fire had it advertised. Also was able to buy some 6.5 bullets, at a time when nobody else has had anything at all in stock.

I've only used them once but had no issues. Ordered some Talley's and had them in a couple of days.

Well my lucky streak with them continues. My 2.5-8x36 will be here Saturday. Fastest they’ve ever been through DVOR.

I’ve had the same luck as others. Ordered something in stock on the website only to find out later it’s not.

Ordered some brass , showed in stock and quick shipping. Two weeks later called to check, oh its in the warehouse getting a shipping label, week should go out anytime.
Four weeks later, they will check on it and get back to me. The show back in stock twice at higher prices and sold out. Calling again tomorrow then canceling, bad thing is I've passed up a few opportunities from other places. They charge you immediately. Look up reviews since November its the same thing over and over. Never again. Glad it's only brass, I didn't need it bad yet.

Anything ammo related you can expect all kinds of issues and purchase problems in this political climate.

As regards optics, I have been buying from these guys since the late 90's and have had nothing but stellar service. I bought 2 high-end scopes for a South Africa hunt from them in 97 and the guy that sold them to me was so knowledgeable. He hooked me up with others who had already done the plains game style hunt and they relayed their experiences. The choices he helped me make were perfect. These two scopes are still among my favorites. Many other purchases over the years with the same great service.

I have since switched buying from Doug and Camera Land because of their support to this site and they are excellent also.

I can't understand why anybody deals with them. At best you have a coin flip chance of it all going smooth. Life is too short and time afield so precious to hassle with lazy scum.

I ordered a set of rings from them for my fieldcraft and they sent two sets..... that's my only dealings with them.

Called twice, on hold twice. for an hour each time. Ends up getting a recording eventually, my call has been given a number and will be returned in that order. If thats true it must be a pretty big list.

I also used them a few years ago. Very good prices, but actually getting the product was a coin flip. As much as I dislike Amazon, my last couple optics came through them at great prices. One thing is their prices are like the stock market and change day to day.

Did you try picking up the phone and calling them first?

Wouldn’t matter. I called to inquire about availability of some 9mm projectiles and a Sig grip module. I was assured all was in stock. Three weeks after order still don’t have items or an update.

Coworker had the same issue recently. Called and was told that since we aren't in the United States, they can't sell AR parts to him. He told them that Ak is part of the USA but to go pound sand anyway. He wouldn't support anybody who was that Fuggin stupid

I had ordered some binos from them months ago and returned them as they weren’t what I expected. Just recently got my refund after more then a month. They sent a different pair that I canceled on their site and by email as they sent a e mail saying out of stock. They sent them anyway once they came in stock and charged my card then wanted to charge me a restocking fee and me pay shipping. Had to send a msg on FB no messenger telling them we were done with them as they kept send generic emails saying this or that, they finally replied back on messenger. They received my bino’s back a month ago still no refund.

I ordered a Daniel Defense pistol grip from them on 1/14 with another item that was, as I recall, a backorder. Their site did not say that the pistol grip was out of stock. Subsequently, I saw on the website that they got some inventory in, which then sold out. They never shipped it. I also was notified by Daniel Defense that they had it in stock, but I didn’t order it because I had ordered from Optics Planet. So yesterday, I saw that Midway had it. Cancelled it on Optics Planet. Half way expect them to still send it sometime.

I will say that I ordered a trigger from them on the 18th. Shipped fast at a good price, but I’m not too happy with them regarding the grip. They never said it was out of stock when I ordered it or subsequently, and didn’t send it when they said it was in stock. Not very excited to order from them again.

Well looks like I got bit by these crooks.

Ordered a couple small parts that showed in stock on 1/25.

On 2/2 it still had not shipped.

I went online, placed same order at Midway on 2/2, and requested cancellation at OP on 2/2.

I received my Midway order 2/4.

I STILL have not been granted cancellation for the OP order.

And here is what really makes me mad - they have a chat feature on their website. I've tried 3 times to start a chat. It says it puts you in a queue. You sit there and watch it count down, and once it gets to 1 you are told there are no specialists available. Its obviously fake, why in the hell would they go through the trouble of randomly generating a queue number just to make you wait and tell you there are no "specialists" to talk to. That is 100% someone sitting behind the scenes thinking it'd be funny to f*ck over people.

Honestly by now everybody should know what a game of chance attempting commerce with Optics Planet is. Nobody there cares to uphold the most simple of practices that resemble customer service. They suck. Please don't trade with scum, it only encourages them. Go to Vegas or spud a hole in the ice and go fishing if you need some sport from your money or time.

After giving them a good review, here's my experience with them yesterday-
I ordered a Leupold VX3-HD scope from them. An hour later I got a message that they had received my order, and were processing it. Unfortunately, the item they were going to send was not what I had ordered- it was an older, discontinued model. I got on the phone, only to be put on terminal hold. I decided to just cancel the order, but that did not work- instead, today I got a message that the order had shipped. Now, I have to wait until it gets to my house, apply for a return authorization, and drive it to a return facility. What a pain in the tail- not only did they get the order screwed up, my attempt to cancel was simply not honored.
thanks a lot, OP.

In the past I had purchased from Optics Planet a few times with good service & results. I was going to again this past fall. The Leupold I wanted was out of stock and could not get an answer as to when it would be available but they would back order. No thanks...

Recently I've read a lot of bad reviews about them. Sounds like they may have some employees with attitude problems.

I ended up ordering from Sport Optics and was told 2 or 3 days to ship. Scope shipped the next day. Two weeks later purchased another scope with the same 2 or 3 days to ship. It too shipped the next day. So far so good with Sport Optics...

The amount of money I "might" save is never worth the potential hassle.

YMMV, but I'm not broke enough to need to roll the dice on purchases costing >$500
