Was scowering around the cabelas website and found this gem at a heck of a price. My rifle loony senses are tingling hard so somebody please buy this out from under me so I don't do something stupid. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/100523130I think that rifle is gorgeous (maybe I am the only one) but I would have no use for this rifle other than to look at it and gawk.

Alcoholic: Is this the AA meeting?
Bartender: I think you're in the wrong place.
This is the most beautiful Savage I've ever seen.

My thoughts exactly. Its rare to find a savage that is actually beautiful. This is a tough one to let slip for a gun porn addict like myself

No, I think I'll let you have it. I lived through the 1960s; no reason to go back.
Shoot straight, shoot often, but by all means, use enough gun!

I was wondering how old that rifle was. I could tell it was pretty old but I wasn't able to find anything on it

My initial reaction was, Savage, meh.
That one however...........
Pretty unique, if the chambering blows your hair back then why not? Ever see a luggage rack on a hurse?

I was wondering how old that rifle was. I could tell it was pretty old but I wasn't able to find anything on it Quick search, looks like Mr. Gilkey was active building rifles from mid-1950's thru mid-1980's. He passed in mid-1990's. Apparently an active competitive shooter in addition to gunsmith.

I was in until I read the caliber then my neck started hurting and my left arm went numb.
Before my car wreck I was recoil sensitive but now it just hurts
