Several years ago, I put back a Winchester Featherweight for my son to use as a big game rifle, once he gets older. We shoot a lot, and he is developing a working knowledge of firearms. He recentlly started that, to him, a hunting rifle is a lever gun. He likes bolt actions o.k., but he considers a hunting rifle, a lever gun. This likely stems from him shooing our old .30-30 so much. In many ways I agree with him. Am I crazy for backing out of the Featherweight and getting him a Henry Long Ranger. Also, he shoots left handed, and the Featherweight is a right handed gun. Advantage Henry. Thoughts?
