I previously used RL-15 with pretty decent results, wondering if anyone has had luck with other powders.

Yeah, I know.....we’re in the era of beg, borrow, or steal for components.

H-4895 has worked well in two rifles with 130 Triple Shocks,125 Accubond and 125 Ballistic tips. I haven’t had quite the same results with the Tipped Triple Shocks.

Add IMR-4064 to the possibles list. Good results with the 130 TTSX in two .30’06 samples; a 22” FN Mauser and a 24” Vanguard.

I never tried the TTSX but RL15 was my go to powder with the 130gr TSX. It shot so good that I never tried any other power.

I have a hard time believing that Big Game would be a bad choice...

Where are you fellas seated? I’ve found the best results with the front of the first driving band at the case mouth.

I seated at what Barnes recommended starting with at 0.050 and i never moved it from there. When I first started working with the TSX I was trying to seat at 0.010 as I do with other bullets with no luck at all. When I looked at the little card that came in the bullet box and seen what Barnes recommended I went with that and everything came together. I don't know where the driving band was seated in reference to the case mouth.

Ever since I read and determined they like jump I have been seating them with a light crimp at the base of the shortest channel. Haven't paid attention to DTL at all. For me they're a hunting bullet and anything about MOA for 3 is great. Generally I get 3 in a half inch and 5 about an inch at 100 and that's good enough for my needs. Fine tune if you need.

Good luck and shoot straight y'all

The most accurate round in my Ruger Mod. 77MK II in .30-06 is the 130 grain TSX. I use H414 with a COAL of 3.3", 3050 fps. ten feet from the muzzle. 1.5 MOA at 100 yards.
