Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the hornady interlock SP and interlock SP-RP? Specially the .350 200gr version. The product number on the box is #3510, which when googled brings up the SP-RP. However the box label just says SP. Is there a difference, or were they just “renamed” at some point? I spent some time on google and didn’t see an answer, so figured someone here would know. The couple boxes I have are not the newest production, they’re the older red boxes with white writing on them.

I didn’t know what the “RP” meant but after a few searches found it means “recoil proof”. I guess that means the jacket has been extended to the tip so there’s little or no lead exposed at the tip.

The Hornady 200 gr, 35 cal Interloks that I have, and have used for years, have about 1/16” of lead at the tip. I suppose the SP-RP is their newest version and if there’s no lead exposed they would look much like the bullets in Remington factory loads.

I eventually found the same, but in reference to 375 bullets. So the product number on the newer loads is the same, and everywhere I can find them online they are listed as SP-RP, however, every bullet in the 200gr .358 flavor appears to have the exposed lead tip. Even the newest ones. The box labels on the new ones make no mention of “RP” either. So maybe the 200gr .358 SP-RP doesn’t exist? If it does, I’d rather have them for use in my 350 rem mag than the version with the exposed lead tips. Anyone know?
