Looking to pick up a nice wood stock that will fit a SA Howa 1500 with a #2 contour barrel. Shorter length of pull would be ideal as I plan to get it cut down for the wife.

Would also be interested in a barreled action in a #2 contour chambered in 6mm creedmoor or 6.5 creedmoor.

I’ve promised the wife a “wood stocked” rifle as a graduation present cause she likes the look of wood better than synthetic.

I have a 6CM in a Banser stock now and there’s no need in letting a good Banser stock go to waste so that’s why I’m looking for another barreled action also.

Have cash or good trade fodder (243, 6.5CM, 308, 270 win brass, Tikka T3 Hunter wood stock, scopes, etc.)

Shoot me a PM with what you have-

I bought a 6mm Creedmoor barreled action howa last year on a deal and then found a reasonably priced vanguard synthetic stock online and put it on it. I like the vanguard synthetic better than any of the howas. At the time the place I got the stock had a few wooden ones too but they were also vanguard I believe. I think I got it from numeric arms or cdnn I can't remember for sure.

I still haven't shot the rifle but it handles well with the #2 in the vanguard stock.

Haven’t shot mine either, but it’s on its second scope.

Sent you a PM about something else

GPC still has some NOS short action walnut stocks that were made when S&W was importing Howa 1500s.

GPC part number 584440C is the basic stock for $153 and part number 584470C is the higher grade, deluxe, stock for $183.
