Buddy made me some waffles from store bought mix, beer and an egg.

Any homemade waffle recipes? Cooking in a cast waffle iron ala stove top if it matters.

Only revolutionary tip i can add is use a cold stick of butter to rub the iron face down. Never stick again.

I have yet to find a legitimate use for eggnog. It seems to make everything taste like eggnog.

I like crisp waffles that don't get soggy at the first sign of butter and this recipe is my favorite. The cornstarch is the secret.

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk or buttermilk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; mix well. Add
the milk, vegetable oil, egg, sugar and vanilla and mix well. Let the batter sit for 30 minutes.
