I picked up a Gen 4 yesterday, stuffed the mags with 180 grain W/white box HP’s. To dam cold to shoot it (-31) though.

Great firearm and caliber! Learn the trigger reset technique, if you never owned a glock?

Thanks , but I own 6. 😂. An early 21. Gen 4 35, 27, gen 3 17, 20SF, 44 and now the 23. I have had the 31, an early 23 (2.5?) and an early 20.

Congrats on your new Glock! The 23 is a very versatile platform. I've got a G22 with alternate barrels in 9mm and 357 Sig.

All you need is parts that most often need replacing: RSA, slide lock spring and trigger spring. Must be ready for actions of famous Mr. Murphy.

Bullshit.

All you need is ammo and a place and time to shoot. That stupid Glock will outlive you - will it to your grandkids.

You don't need the parts if you have them. Sorta like if you buy a snowblower, you don't have any blizzards that year. I took the Glock Armorers course about 15 years ago and I'd change one item. Recoil Spring Assembly, Extractor and Trigger Spring. The good thing about the RSA is it also fits a 19 and the Trigger Spring fits about everything but the 42 and 43. That being said, I've seen a few RSA wear out and I think one trigger spring break in 15 years at a rental range.

I had a RSA break on me in a 27 in less than a couple thousand rounds.

That's actually been tempting me, too, due to the heavier slide vs previous generations. They are apparently hard to come by, and when you do, you will have to pay a large premium over suggested retail.

I love the Gen 5s, particularly my G19. I've been hoping like hell for a long time they'd do a G23 in Gen 5. I sort of gave up on the idea and then out of the blue, there they came. I have really high hopes for it, particularly with that heavier slide.

Same here. Hopefully availability will pick up enough so that they can be found for MSRP, at least. You can get one now on GunBroker, if you're willing to spend over $700.00 for it.

I hear ya. That's all I'm waiting for at this point. I have a decent stash of 40 S&W on hand but if more were readily available for lots of play time, I probably would have ponied up the $700+ by now lol

Hope you can find enough ammo to wear it out. Wish I could.
