Just curious if anyone has any soft shooting recipes using these ingredients? I don't need to shoot any elephants or dinosaurs, just little whitetails and pigs.

I will assume you are talking 45-70...

I have shot a lot at 49gr. Chrono between 1,875 and 1,925 depending on barrel length (I have both short and long barreled Henry rifles).

Great deer load...their BP drops very fast with a shot through the heart/lung area.

42gr was actually more accurate in my short rifle with velocity at 1,575.

These were with Starline brass and Tula magnum primers (I used magnum because I have so many...also the 42gr load is low density...).

Thanks Tarbe. It is a 45-70, in a Guide Gun.

You are welcome. Pretty sure you will find nirvana somewhere between 42 and 49 grains. smile
