78 or 9, terrible winters for Ky. Some of the worst, a hundred year blizzard, they called it.
Out walking one day & saw a coon frozen solid, covered in a 3/4" thick sheet of clear ice. The possum pic reminded me of this. The coon looked like he'd been just walking along & froze to death mid step, it's mouth open just like the possum. Last gasp I guess.
It was years before we saw any small game other than squirrels after those winters. Thinking that Quail had to be reintroduced & never again was the same. Rabbits as well.
