Yup. 68 years old
They started taking them out less when they realized they had the same fatality rate as open heart surgery.
My doctor then said”we give him penicillin every couple years when he has a sore throat......or have him go under for major surgery......which it was back then.

Apparently I do have a pretty good immune system, which is what "medical science" eventually decided tonsils are all about.

65, Still have the tonsils and the appendix. Even though I had a hell of an episode of appendicitis for about five days when I was 14 or 15. They loaded me up with a schitt ton of penicillin and I got over it.

Lost the gall bladder a couple years ago.

The responses have been interesting. I am 69 and one of only 2 or 3 in my elementary class of 20-some who escaped with them intact. As I recall, most of the kids more than a couple of years younger than me retained theirs. I was trying to figure out two things about the subject: 1) the beginning and end of the years of rampant removal for no reason and 2) if it was a regional issue. (I should also have specified residence of youth.)

I've had only 3 wisdom teeth for decades, now the fourth decides to make an appearance at 62 years. Tonsils intact.

Nope, got them out at 17 yrs old. I had strep throat like 6-7 times and always got sore throats and colds.
Dr. finally said to get them out and have never had a sore throat since. I’m 60
Also have all my wisdom teeth.
