My wife saw this one loping past our front porch Sunday morning. The coyote was almost to the far corner of the pond by the time I made it to the side porch--116 yards.

The "Sierra Prairie Enemy 55 Grain BlitzKing" dropped him on the spot.

That’s a nice looking dog for as far south as you are.

I killed one yesterday morning also. I'd been seeing some on this one farm I hunt, but had not been able to call them up. This female came in after we'd been howling back and forth for a few minutes. Rile is a 700 ADL that put in a LVSF stock, 6.5 Creedmoor using a 107 grain Siera TMK. Overkill really, but I'd been wanting to shoot something with the rifle.

When I was a kid in the 50s and 60s we didn't have coyotes. Now we're over run with them at times. Then mange and parvo or distemper knocks them down. I believe the fox hunters imported them for the dogs to chase. The hog hunters blessed us with imported Russian boar which seem to have predominated in the breeding of our local piney woods hogs.

Same here. Coyotes, hogs, and armadillos have all invaded new territory.

Sweetness. What scope is on that?

I'm sure there are folks in Texas who would love a nice 'yote throw blanket after last week...

Those look like nice warm pelts...

Coyotes started showing up here in the late 1970's. I killed my first one while deer hunting back in the early 80's. The population here where I am is down from what it was at one time, mainly because the Mennonites hunt and trap them year round. It's actually gotten hard to call them up anymore, as they have been educated by every call that's on an e-caller or hand call.

Armadillos have started showing up here too. Hogs are not here where I live, as it's too open and not enough cover to hide them........and I'm not complaining, although I would love to shoot some.
