Any idea what's on the bottom?

Years ago, we had one, but the wife said never again. So, we got an upright.

YUP . . .

We also got an upright a few years ago and it was well worth it! I dont miss digging through the old one at all.

Yes, but I hate them! They do make good folding tables for laundry.

I don't open mine without a flashlight to go hunting for stuff on the bottom.

Yes, the wife goes on fairly regular defrosting binges, EVERY time going on about how it develops frost and is no doubt going to crap out any second.

I've an ida thars a few frezzen blueberries down there!

5 lb bags of flour for the coming apocalypse.

Just got one, they've been hard to find...atleast name brands have...since this covid mess started. My taxidermist buddy has had his on back order for 7 months. About 3 deer, a few boston butts, a few wooducks waiting on the taxidermist.

5lb bags of rice, 6 mallards for blind retrieve training.

We use cardboard boxes inside to store ground from steak... same with fish and shrimp. Still a big PITA once a year to "reconsolidate".

We keep two. One for fruit and vegetables and one for meats.

I have 4, but currently only 2 are full. The critters are separated in cardboard boxes.

I hate our new upright. The chest freezer had two times the capacity plus. But it was over twenty five years old, and was left at the old house when we moved.

I purchased wire bins which filled the bottom of our chest freezer. Ground beef in one bin, beef steaks in the next, pork sausage and bacon in a third and pork steak or chops in a fourth.

Whole turkeys and hams got scattered across the top. Ice cream and a couple cases of brown sugar went in a little space in front or on top of the compressor.

Never any searching, and easy to inventory at a glance.

Note: brown sugar in a freezer will never become aged. It comes out at ten years as good as the day it was packaged.

If one can not find the appropriate wire bins, waxed poultry boxes from the grocery store are also suitable.

Lots of chicken and beef stock.

We keep ours in there too.

We had one - ONE (1) damn small bag of Gravy Train dogfood for super cold mornings for my outside mutts, That crap had indian meal moths fly out of it. Now we see the random once a week new mini-moth around. Drives me nuts.

Now I have to keep the house lady’s flour and cornmeal in the freezer.

I hate those upright with their stupid ass auto defroster. Makes my steaks and burger turn brown after a month and ice cream get’s funky before we can even get a chance to eat it. Try to keep ice cream for a couple of months. Vanilla turns yellow and chocolate turns into gooey tarlike substance.
