I am having a 264 WM barrel built for my Encore by Bullberry and I am looking to try some 24N41 in my loads. It is slower than Retumbo and Reloader 33 which seem to be some of the favorites for a 264, will be pushing a 120 gr TTSX or 127 gr LRX, mainly because I have a box of LRX and 2 boxes of the TTSX from loading for my daughter’s 260. I have some H1000 also but really want to use the 24N41 and get close to a compressed load. Anyone have any experience with this powder?

Nope. I use IMR 4350, works great in the 264’s I have owned and a couple I’ve sold.

I use RL-33 for the 140's and heavier and Ramshot Magnum for anything lighter. I have an extreme weather Model 70 chambered for the 264 Win Mag. Works well for me.

That’s a better 26 Nosler powder. May be a bit slow for optimal performance in the .264.

VN570 and Retumbo as well.

570 is a new, high energy powder. It does great in the 26 Nosler, even though it has a faster burn rate than 869 or 24N41.

It would probably do great in the .264, but I have no info or data. If I was still shooting a .264, I'd give it a whirl.

It's a very coarse stick, won't meter thru my Uniflow, stacks up. I remove the drop tube, drop a charge in a scale pan and weigh. Slower, but it works.

It's been really good in my 300 RUM. Just under 3000 for 230's and just over 3000 for 220 Scenars.

I am betting it'll be good in the 264, 7 Mashburn and about anyplace 33 works as well.

Unlikey. I measured capacity of 4 different brands of.264 brass at an average of 91.8 gr of US-869 to the base of the neck. Thus my top load is 77.o gr of US-869 with a 140 gr bullet.

Not familiar with the VV powder you mention, but it's right above US-869 in the burn rate chart. Also not sure of the relative bulk denisty of the two.

Retumbo for my 264’s. I have loaded some of the TTSX and they flew at warp speed.

570 is pretty dense. And it’s a bit faster burning than powders like 869. In the 26 Nosler I can attain max performance without bullet crowding the powder and with the 156 Berger. It’s high energy, actually out performs 869, the classic Nos powder.

It should do very well in the .264 Win Mag. May want to try the 156 over 570 in the .264.

I have a 264 WM and plan to try 24N41 with my ELD 130's (1:9 twist won't shoot 140 BT's) but have used both RL33 and 24N41 extensively in 300 RUM. My opinion is that 24N41 acts faster than RL33 in the RUM. 24N41 is a very low density powder and really fills the case. I've noticed less barrel heat vs RL33 but 24N41 seems to be more temperature sensitive for pressure, and I have to load powder charges in accordance with the temp conditions to avoid vertical stringing with cold days (37F) and loads that perform in 70F conditions.

I have since got my 264WM barrel, I have been playing with 123 gr Absolute Hammer bullets with RL26 and a couple loads with H4831; pressured out on RL26 at 3380 fps but groups were about .9" which I think it should do better. I haven't shot any loads with the 24N41 yet but shot a couple 120 TTSX loads with N570, no pressure signs at 70 gr. and 3250 fps. Plenty of room to work up with it, think can get well over 3400 fps with it. Time will tell and I will be working more with the 123 gr AH also, the H4831 has potential but tricky working with the AH in a single shot as it doesn't the same pressure signs as a bolt gun.

I've been loading 24N41in my Sendero 264, 26" barrel, Romney trigger, bedded. Using a Hornady 120gr ELD and 75.5gr 0.005" off the lands it produced under 0.5 MOA at 100yds 5-shot groups, no signs of pressure. 3220fps 11fps extreme spread, 5.3fps Std Dev using a Labradar chrono. Much better accuracy and consistency vs RL33.

I have been working with 124 Hammer Hunters and N570 for a while now, settled on 75.3 gr @ 3400 fps and .5-.75" groups. Still have the 24N41 but haven't tried it yet. Think a little more accuracy there but I still learning the details of tweaking an Encore for best groups.

I use surplus WC-860 powder in mine. No complaints
