Had a big upright, it died.

Given hard to get freezers, we found a smaller upright, it was OVERFILLED with 1 deer and 2 cow elk. Never mind veggies, fish, chicken and pork.

Plan now is a medium chest freezer to act as overflow. Use containers of some sort to add to organization. Then "fill" the upright by section to the point we can still move stuff around in there. As something "empties" refill from the chest freezer.

Should have secitons for garden stuff, hunting kills, butcher a pig, fishing etc.

This all assumes we can actually FIND a decent chest freezer, they are still seemingly months out from delivery. Really need it by end of summer when we start filling things again

One at each place, gets emptied each year. When we had one place stuff migrated to the bottom to be lost almost forever.

Yes in the bottom of the chest freezer should be about 75 lbs of deer and beef hamburger. On top sweet corn and green beans from last year. Maybe a corned beef brisket or three. About 20 lbs of bacon floating around.

Two large chest freezers. One is for meat, the other is used for all things frozen but not meat.....bread, veggies, pies, butter, cheese, ect., ect.! memtb

Im currently using wire bins they arent perfectly sized for my freezer but work better for me than boxes. They stack on top of each other so not much wasted space.
At any give time you would find venison , smoked and fresh sausage made by myself or my cousin, a turkey , pork butts and about a dozen precooked meals in vac pack bags. Sometimes a bag of ice.

There is really no difference in the price of the small chest freezers. I will start looking at units that will provide storage for a 1/2. I don't like the choices with a 1/4. I would end up just buying steak packages.
