I thought that Mexican military Mausers made after 1936 were all the small ring 98s with the Springfield-like knurled cocking piece.

Well, I'd buy it but the grip is a bit too tight for me. (And I don't have 15 grand burning a hole in my wallet. Or bank account.) But it sure is pretty, and I could always use another 7mm.

That rifle, and his writings about the round, inspired me to buy a Ruger tang safety model when it was introduced in 1972. Worked out far better than any of my hunting rifles I'd used up to that point. E

I can't justify the cost just because it belonged to JOC who by the way is a favorite writer of mine. I have three rifles in this caliber two are custom and one a pre64 M70 carbine and barely touch the asking price of this one. I doubt it's investment potential.

Somebody needed a new screwdriver set. I noticed that too, plus the screws weren't all parallel . No sights, frond too long, no barrel band sling swivel, Conventional cheekpiece, rather than British Black butt pad, rather than English Red.. No Rev. Mike...this rifle is not for me.

Well, I tried. At that weight it might not be a bad sheep rifle, though...next time you're chasing Aw-Dads down in Texas. I understand those Davis Mountains can be pretty unforgiving.

Well, if that one is worth $15K I'll sell this one for $14K or best offer. Yeah, it's a 7x57. Might even be related to Jack's rifle.
