On January 18, 2016, Daniel Leetin Shaver of Granbury, Texas, was fatally shot by police officer Philip Brailsford in the hallway of a La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in Mesa, Arizona United States. Police were responding to a report that a rifle had been pointed out the window of Shaver's hotel room.
After the shooting, the rifle, which remained in the room, was determined to be a pellet gun. Following an investigation, Brailsford was charged with second-degree murder and a lesser manslaughter charge and found not guilty by a jury.
Prosecutors argued the shooting was unjustified. In March 2018, it became known that the United States Department of Justice had reopened the case and was looking into a possible civil rights violation by Brailsford. Brailsford was reinstated to the Mesa Police Department in August 2018, and then was granted retirement on medical grounds about a month later with a pension of $2,500 per month.
Brailsford's lawyer has said that Brailsford suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder due to his shooting of Shaver and the resultant criminal trial. Side note: his father was a Sargent in the same police department which is partly why he got away with what he did.
I've seen that video before and have no interest in ever seeing it again. Very disturbing.
Poor officer with PTSD. Probably more like overwhelming guilt. Either would be cured by some effective street justice by the victims family and friends.

^^^^This. And can you believe a jury acquitted the guy?

When the defendant, defense and prosecutor are all on the same side?
or a total pussy, scared out of his mind. Like a gear biting dog.
That kid didn't stand a chance, the cop was wound so tight, And obviously wanted to shoot.
Remember when cops risk THEIR lives doing the job? Prone out the guy and cuff him?
What was the point of making them crawl like animals? They were face down hands on head, legs crossed. Ready to cuff.
Sad, sad, sad.
Use this Analogy often, it kinda fits here.
I don't hate Jerry Sandusky. He was a pedafile. Screwed up POS, like others. I absolutely despise Penn State, and their culture. Jerry was just a dirtbags that needed dealt with. The others. The ones ignoring it, allowing it to continue when they knew kids were suffering...
They should get punished even more than the offender.
Cops? Qualified immunity?
Enhanced responsibility!
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
Typical loser who gets a little authority and let’s it get to his head. I would be first to tell him that he is still a wimp.
I don’t blame the cop, I blame the low IQ moron who hired him.
