I really hope Ruger puts their name on their first Marlin in an 1894 with .480 Ruger on it. A guide gun style and regular carbine please

I'd buy one or two .480Ruger carbines, but hopefully in an 1895 model.

Unlikely to improve a Guide Gun, however.

Don't ask me about my military service or heroic acts...most of it is untrue.

I'd buy one. And then I'd have to find a revolver to match. My budget would struggle, but that would be an awesome combo. I'm looking forward to seeing what Ruger does with the brand. I sure do love Marlins. And Ruger. Those two brands cover the majority of guns I've bought over the years.

Don’t know how they’d sell to the general public but that might be a real winner - especially in straight-walled hunting states!!

I know southern MN is debating the straight wall rule change these days (shotgun only now). I'm north of the rifle line, but I still hunt property with ranges that support my revolver cartridge lever action addiction!

I find the "straight wall" cartridge and shot gun slug laws and conversations interesting. Maybe who ever decides this stuff should read about how the American Bison were slaughtered and the cartridges used at distance. A review of the militaries Sandy Hook tests with the 45-70 in 1879 might be enlightening. Two miles is a long ways away. Another interesting read is when the military looked into how far a shot gun slug could go. I read it years ago and it was an eye opener for me. Granted the vast majority of hunters with straight walled cartridges and slugs probably don't shoot past hundred yards and 150 yards is average here in Alaska.

One good thing if this passes is hunters will have a good reason to by them selves a new gun, like a 45-70 and get a small one for the wife and kids, like a .44 mag or .45 Colt or one of the newer straight walled cartridges. A win win unless your a deer!

My moose hunting rifle this year will be my peep sighted Miroku made Mod. 71 Winchester Deluxe .348 Ackley Improved and the excellent 250 grain bonded Kodiak bullet from Alaska Bullet Works. It will sit on a case full of H4350 with Starline brass and Federal 215 primers. I'm excited!

I'd probably buy a lever gun in .480 Ruger. Have plenty of ammo and components for it.
