This meeting isn't anything remarkable, but I laughed when I read the original story on the CBC website. It stated that Trudeau and Biden were having a "face to face" virtual talk. How does one have a "face to face" virtual anything?

Face to face means to be in the same place. The dictionary defines face to face as - so as to be close together and facing each other.

You cannot have a virtual "face to face". CBC changed the story. It became a virtual meeting. laugh

COVID-19, climate change among top priorities for Trudeau-Biden meeting today

Virtual meeting is the first bilateral one-on-one for Biden since taking office

The White House has released a fact sheet in advance of this afternoon's virtual meeting between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Joe Biden.

This is Biden's first bilateral meeting as president.

The fact sheet describes plans for a "road map" for progress in areas of mutual interest, including COVID-19, climate change, defence and social justice. It makes no mention of certain Canadian priorities, such as procuring more vaccine doses, freeing Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig from imprisonment in China or securing an exemption to Biden's Buy American plan.

Experts want Ottawa to push hard for an exemption so that Canada isn't harmed by Biden's plan to prioritize U.S. businesses for federal infrastructure and procurement.

What Justin Trudeau needs from Joe Biden now

Life for Canada atop its volatile southern neighbor is like bedding down in a nice apartment built above a meth lab, according to a quote often attributed to late American comic Robin Williams.

The bully in the White House made the last four years especially fraught. When Prime Minister Justin Trudeau complained about US steel and aluminum sanctions imposed on spurious grounds that Canada was a national security threat, then-President Donald Trump blasted him as "very dishonest and weak." Another time Trump asked the PM, "Didn't you guys burn down the White House?" -- referring to the War of 1812. For his part, Trudeau was alarmed about the ex-President's undemocratic attempts to cling to power after he lost last year's election.

What I took away from that was they didn't get very mych accomplished. Glowing praise for each other, but any work will get done by civil servants.

It was a successful photo op.

Interesting, Biden praised KKK grand dragon Sen Robert Byrd, called blacks super predators and Trudeau has a propensity for wearing racist black face. Scratch a progressive and a racist facist lies underneath.

The upside of making it a virtual meeting between those two is that at least tru-dummy wasn't trying to give him a hand job every time he thought no one was looking.

I think that most people realize civil servants will handle all the rules, changes and negotiations. Having Trudeau and Biden meet doesn't really mean much. Regardless of your politics, the day to day business of government continues, regardless of the party or the person elected as PM or president. They were trying to make a "feel good" moment for their respective citizens.

Having said that, it's undeniable that the staffs of the various ministries and US departments have been working hard in the background to create new or updated legislation and regulations. Any changes to existing rules have already been drafted and are awaiting approval.

Civil servants do not have the time to waste for elections to be won. There is too much to do, so drafts are always ready to go to the House of Commons or the US Senate. The CBC analysis of the meeting did not last long. The pundits could not offer their viewers any insights into what will happen because the two leaders didn't say anything. Here's what I learned from CBC after the meeting.

1. COVID is bad.
2. US/CDN trade is good.
3. Those Cdn guys, held in jail by the Chinese, should be let go.
4. Clean energy is good.
5. Photo ops all round!

If this sounds sarcastic, realize that neither man really understands the rules and regulations about trade or clean energy. It's all very complex. Neither man understands COVID, except what is told to them by doctors. Leaders don't sweat the details. They have people to look after all that. The theory is that they keep the ship moving and let the individual experts do their thing.

Those 2 greedy idiots spent more time talking about their portfolios. They did good dumping all their oil,gas stocks and shifting to putting their money on solar panels and windmills. They probably discussed how Bill Gates is dumping all his greenbacks and buying up land which would hold value when the dollar collapses. You think them 2 aholes care about you. LOL

I hear that Bill Gates, President Biden and some Hollywood celebrities have been secretly meeting with aliens to take over the world. Bill is buying up the land so he can provide the aliens and others with private locations to hide and plot the takeover in the US. There is nothing that you can do to stop them.

And newsflash! Biden is rumoured to be diverting some of the money normally earmarked for CIA ops into what insiders refer to as "AA" No, it's not about alcoholics. It's the Alien Agenda. COVID is just one of the ways that the world government and aliens are using to take over the planet.

Don't be scared. Although you cannot stop Bill and the US president, it sure is fun to talk about! And you are powerless to stop them!

Just remember: An alien is anyone who comes from outside your country...like Mars for example. Or Mexico. laugh

Quote
A non-resident alien for tax purposes is a person who is not a U.S. citizen and who does not meet either the “green card” or the “substantial presence” test as described in IRS Publication 519, U.S. Tax Guide for Aliens.

Paper money that will collapse or another housing bubble in the making. Hope you aren't putting your money in gold. That will be the first thing confiscated after the great collapse. It happened after the 1930's collapse. They are preparing counter measures fo bitcoin investors also. They will be quicker this time on confiscation.History repeats itself and they will pay you 100 dollars an ounce and then jack it up to 5000 dollars an ounce to base the new currency on.
In 1930 the gold was confiscated and illegal to own or prison was waiting for you. You got 25 dollars and ounce and then they revalued it up at 35 and ounce. I mention this to all you naive gold and bitcoin investors. Land is the only asset that would be safe because there never was a land confiscation acceptance because this would be considered communist. LOL what about the confiscations?Isn't that communist?

If one can leave the bitterness aside, we should remain hopeful that the recently approved vaccines and timelines remain or get better. This was yesterdays's announcement WRT vaccinations.

---

An earlier end date for vaccination campaign is 'possible', Trudeau says

PM says projected September end date for vaccination campaign could be 'moved forward'
John Paul Tasker · CBC News

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said today that Canada's vaccination campaign could wrap up before September if the country secures the necessary shots and if there's a change in dosing timelines.

U.S. President Joe Biden announced Tuesday his administration will have enough supply on hand by the end of May to vaccinate every American — two months earlier than planned. (You fellows south of the border should be glad tof that.)

Asked about that ambitious timeline, Trudeau said his government is confident that all Canadians who want a shot will be vaccinated by the end of September, but an earlier end date is "possible" if all goes well with deliveries and if other promising vaccine candidates are approved by the regulators at Health Canada.

"As I've been saying since this past November, we expect all Canadians to be vaccinated by the end of September, for those who want it," he said. "It's possible that those timelines can be moved forward."

He said Ottawa is focused on "bringing in more doses for more Canadians to get through this as rapidly as possible."

More Canadians could get vaccinated earlier than planned if the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) agrees to adjust the recommended interval between first and second vaccine doses — a change that some provinces, notably B.C. and Quebec, have implemented already.
