This is a Springfield 30-40 Krag that someone sporterized and placed in a Mannlicher stock. With the Lyman receiver sight, it would make an awesome little woods carbine. I believe I also have a box of Remington 30-40 Krag ammunition I'll add in to get you started.

$895 + $25 shipping

Cool old rifle, kind of like Larry Koller's Krag.

Me too!

About 35 years ago I had a mannlicher-stocked Krag that VT 'smith Wilbur Hauck stamp with his name and address, so I assume that he put it together. Somebody had put a G&H side-mount on it before I bought it and with the scope installed, offset to the left, it didn't balance/handle nearly as well as it did when the scope and top half of the mount was removed.

I remember seeing a beautiful custom Krag Mannlicher made by a gunsmith (I forget who) for Hollywood actor Dick Powell. It was on Gun Broker, and it sold for under $1,000. After 20 years, I still kick myself for passing on that one.

What are your trade interests?
I have a nice custom that was built for me, but this sure is a pretty one.
How is the bore?
Hare you shot it?
Thanks, Hutch
