OP Ptarmigan Campfire Regular Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 2,787 Anchorage	I got bored with perfecting the stuff I should and decided to play around a bit. I wanted to attempt a hamon and try a little file work. Both came out ok for my first attempt. I’m really digging the process and plan on doing a lot more of it. This one is another out of 1084 with purple heart scales. The 3.75” blade hardened up well and seems to take a real good edge. Crap lighting but you get the idea.

Hard cutting edge, with a softer and more forgiving spine for heavy use blades. It looks cool just because.........
