Pretty sure that’s a pileated woodpecker in the soundtrack, not native to either Utah (where it was filmed), or the Rocky Mts but they make such effective use of it I give it a pass. That call appears twice in the movie; the first time is when Johnson pauses before leading the Army column through the Crow burial ground. A nice touch, generally overlooked, in a very well made movie.
