I received a call, 6.50 for a 3 1/2"x 6' line post. The rub is they are in Kansas.

I got the honeysuckle idea somewhere? I've never seen a fresh one. I'm told you can drive a staple in the softwood when they are new, but I know for a fact on old post is hard as iron.

JMO, I would rather use steel than a hedge post that size.
Hedge is commonly used here for corners/braces posts. A line hedge post is typically put in the line one between every 3 -5 steel posts. But size would be more like 4-5" top and 7.5- 8' minimum length.
Sorry I can't report current prices, but I know posts have went up a lot lately. Some guys are making H-braces out of pipe.
Post are like hay- price is not enough if you're selling, too high if you're buying.

Any ideas as to were? Try contacting some implement dealers and co-ops down here in MO. and see if they know anyone selling hedge posts. There's a Dutch owned farm and home store on C highway between Versailles and Eldon and would imagine that they would know if anyone in their community was selling hedge.... sorry that I can't give you a phone number.

Still some hedge posts on my great grandpas place. Fence was built in the 1920s.
Posts are harder than a weddin dick!

That post is being wasted as a mere post. It really needs to be part of a "gate".
