Did you at least saute the okra beforehand?

I'm surely not one for okra in there, but I can live with it if the snot is thoroughly cooked out before it sees the pot.

Got a chance to go to our favourite East European grocery store for the first time in months.

We’ve got Farschmack, Alaskan caviar salad, smoked salmon, mackerel in oil, fresh Russian rye bread and vodka.

I don't but a lot of people around here like to put a big dollop of potato salad in their bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo. I have mine with rice.

We're on day 13 without water so I bought a nuke'able pasta and meatball dish from our local grocery store (HEB). About ready to eat.

Supposedly tomorrow. We shall see. The new pup is on my lap an awful lot of late...

Roux is legit. I always put okra in a gumbo. It isn't slimey if you cook it long enough. It just disappears and thickens the gumbo.
