I dug around in my back room and found 4 fifty round boxes of 223 fmj.

Not a brand i normally shoot. So is just spare.

If somebody at work wants it, 2021 price.
I can part with it or just let it collect dust like it was

I’d rather give the entrance fee to a bum.

Well said. Your thoughts are a reflection of my own. I stopped attending gun shows more than a decade ago for the reasons you delineated.

I gave up on gun shows about 10 years ago! The word gun show now means. Knife tables, baked goods, rusty old unidentifiable parts and some over priced ammo. And a few worn out or over priced guns! That was ten years ago!
Things may be different in other parts of the country, but I'm guessing from the reporting here, not much different!

True story..........my brother passed away about 10 years, and not only was he an avid reloader, but also had a small gun shop. His wife asked me for advice on what to do with the ammo and reloading components and I told her I would sell them for her. I advertised it locally, and came up with what I thought was a fair price, and sold it mostly to people I knew. A neighbor called me and told me that a guy he went to church with, a retired state trooper, did a lot of reloading and shooting and was interested in some of the pistol components.

They came over, and the ex cop bought quite a bit of stuff. I was at a gun show about 6 months later, and I'll be damned if he wasn't set up at a table, and some of the boxes of bullets he had there were some I'd sold him.............because for whatever the reason, my brother would always write the date he bought them on the box, so they were easy to recognize. He had them marked up almost double, and I remember thinking that I'd sold them right at dealer cost, so he really had them priced high.

I couldn't resist it, so I walked over, asked him if they prices on the bullets were negotiable, and he said he'd knock a dollar a box off. I then told him that the price was still too high, because I was the fellow he bought them from. It was only then that he recognized me. I then told him that he must have quit reloading because he told me that was the only reason he was buying them. Dude got all red in the face, and I could tell I'd pizzed him off.

I didn't care what he sold them for, as I was only the go between in the deal anyway, but still hated being lied to. Point being.........there are some of the gun show shysters who will not be honest with you about anything, and as far as I'm concerned, that ex cop was one of them.

The Tulsa Arms Show, normally held twice a year, is an exception.

There was a firearms and related stuff auction here yesterday. 9mm went for $70/box for 10 boxes.

When I was walking out, they were auction 2 boxes of .30-06, 165g remington Corelokt, normally about $15 at Walmart. When I hit the door they were at $30/box and climbing fast

your humor is too dry for me, I can't pick up on it.

nobody with a table at a gunshow voted for Biden.

Nobody with an FFL voted for Biden.

People won't pay $1/round of 9mm at some point and these idiots will move back to stealing your compressor out of your a/c for the copper and aluminum.

This [bleep] right here.
I happened to go with my wife to an Academy store the other day which is very unusual for me. Curiosity I went back to the gun and ammo are you and there wasn't Jax yet of anything not even guns. I did overhear a guy ask someone working there if they got any ammo in that day he said yes some 12 gauge and 9 mm. Was gone very quickly there was over a hundred people lined up at 6 a.m. at the door store didn't open till 8.

The question I have is what the hell are these idiots going to do with $4 a round 7.62x39 fmj?

Plink? Shoot oppressors with fmj? Hunt? Save it?

What's the point for the end user?

I’d say many don’t have a clue as to what fmj is defined as.

To have and to hold, from this day forward, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, from this day forward, til death do us part...or until the prices go even higher, and a profit could be made.

Good question, as doesn't make sense for anyone to spend ridiculous $$ on fmj.
I assume it's the people new to firearms that are buying.

Truth!

My brother bought an AR a couple years ago, and told the LGS idiot he was going to shoot hogs with it. Guy sold him a 600 round box of green tip ammo for it.

Dumbass.

I have no use for FMJ's in .223 or really any other rifle caliber.

I hunt.

I'm not bound by NATO rules.

When I do shoot something, I want expansion. I want to blow a chunk out of what ever I shoot. I want to be humane with what animals I hunt. Even if they are only pigs.
