This book came out in 2009. I wasn't aware of it until it was mentioned in another thread and it sounded interesting so I found a copy at Abebooks. It is a fine book. Published by Naval Institute Press.
It is about the plans and defensive planning and resources available to the Japanese for the expected invasion and defense of the nation.

There is a photo in the book of about 80 miniature submarines under construction or nearly completed which would have been available to the Japanese defense forces.

One quote in the book of an interrogation of Capt. Inoguchi Rikibei regarding the kamikaze attacks was "Poor planes and poor pilots were used and there was no ceiling on the number of either available for use" and the Japanese had thousands of planes still available.

Fascinating book and clearly refutes the modern revisionism about the use of the atomic bombs.
