If you paid with a credit card , I’d return that rifle with a note . Get signature required by recipient. Tell credit card company to take it off your account.

They might find the correct bolt then but probably not. You’d assume that other gun had your bolt in it. But who knows

Ok so I’m confused, talked with Mauser yesterday and they called bs on the matched serial numbers. This was Mauser USA btw. I spoke to Yim and she said that’s normal so who knows.

Mauser said that the vendor should accept the return of a rifle with mismatched #s or said that mismatched #s are normal? (I'm assuming you called Blaser USA?)

The OP could publish the number of his bolt here in the hopes of that rifle's owner contacting him.

Or would that be too logical?

Yeah I called yesterday, she said it’s fine but why do some match and some don’t, again who knows. Mine happen to match. I think it would be interesting to know what Mauser DE Germany had to say about it.

I better check mine. If it's different I'll just check the heads pace. If the headspace is OK I'll be ok. If the number is off I'll post it here and see if it's a match for someone else. They did finally send me the scope rail for mine and I'm getting over the fact it wasn't threaded. I'll see how it shoots and maybe have it threaded 5/8 24 later if there's enough meat for that.

It's still a good deal just not the great deal I thought it was. I picked up a Sauer 100 in 6.5 Creedmoor and another in 6.5 prc a few months ago too so I'm looking forward to some range weather.

My receiver is mc011943. My bolt is mc009319.

As I said in the first post, I talked with someone in Mauser/Blaser and they told me they should absolutely match and they wouldn’t make it past the proof house if they didn’t.

My serial numbers match on my new 308 Impact and my recently purchased 30-06 Extreme.

I love this impact more than any rifle I have ever bought.

I am about there as well. Before the numbers issue, not knowing, mine did this. It turns out that all four I bought have matching numbers. A trip out with it yesterday with a new scope and load was no different.

I just checked mine. Numbers match. It's in the same s/n range as the rest of them we all just grabbed.

My serial numbers match. There are a few different numbers on the bolt so you have to make sure you're looking at the right one. The one that matches on mine is right above where the handle attaches to the bolt.

Standard Manufacturing still has some good deals, but with no after sale service, there's no way I'll order from them.

So far, mine is the only one with a mismatch. Despite Standard claiming that it came to them directly from Mauser like that, I'm sending it back and they are accepting the return (though I'm footing the bill for shipping). JoeBob, the only other one in this thread to say he had a mismatch, confirmed via PM that after closer inspection his do, in fact, match. So, my mismatch is the only one we know of at this point. Good thing I ordered 3 others and they all match.

The plethora of numbers on the bolt confused me. There are two other serial number-like numbers on the bolt.
