Along those lines, when a person finds something, he always says that he found it in the last place that he looked. Does he sometimes go on looking for something in other places after he found it?

Last week I lost a Dewalt tool bag, YELLOW! & an 18V sawzall. Looked in every nook and cranny. Made a younger friend look around.

4 days later I scanned the basement, & froze on a big roll around tool box.

Some SOB put that sawzall right where it was supposed to be.

Welcome to our age.

Ever lost your cellphone while holding it. I joke you not, the ex-wife was having a fit looking for her cell phone, asks me to call it and I'm just staring at her thinking she is messing around. She gets pissed at me blaming me for hiding it. I start laughing and she just gets madder & madder. Finally I lift up her hand holding the cellphone and she just stares at it like I performed magic or something. Then she gets even more pissed for being embarrassed. I say it's not my fault her parents didn't have a child that survived!
Note, I did say my ex-wife 😂

My Dad never, ever loses anything.

Ever.

Wife got him a tube of food grade grease for his processing equipment.

And, the next year he couldn't find it.
He looked everywhere, for days.
Was actually sick over it.

She got him another and dropped it off after church.

When we got home the phone rang.

"I thought I will put it in the drawer of my gun cabinet. So I can find it.
Guess what I found."

I lose Schitt all the time. Even right on the job working on something.

Wife can drop things all over the place, and never loses anything.
She can't understand why i get so mad when she moves stuff. It never sinks in
that her knowing where it is, doesn't help me when I'm looking for something.

I always have a pocket full of various keys.

Yesterday morning the collection included the only key we have for a 1974 IH farm truck.

We had been hauling hay with the truck and when we went to finish up yesterday the key was gone..

I figured I had pulled it out and dropped it when I went to unlock a gate. Checked everywhere, nothing. Two hours later we switched ignitions with another old truck and finished hauling the hay.

I rarely lose stuff, especially a key we've had for +30 years so needless to say I was pissed.

But to my relief this morning I found the key in the door compartment of the feed pickup. Evidentially right where I stashed it...

I lost my favorite knife a couple weeks ago during antelope damage season. I knew when I last used it, so only focused on retracing the stalks and hunts we made after that. No go. I even tore the house apart looking. Since I liked it so much I tried to find the maker to build me a new one. Of course no website or info on him on a gurgle search. So I called Rick Menefee and got his number. Ordered another just like it, but with orange scales. Went to use the tractor and found it. I guess I took it outta my pocket and put it on the stair post in the barn so I wouldn't lose it while using the tractor to hoist critters. Oh well, I can always use another good knife....

The best way I’ve discovered to find lost stuff is buy another . Then I find the lost one in 2 days or less.

I lose crap all the time. Bluetooth earpieces for my phone, I now buy them 4 at a time. The dog usually gets 1or 2 when I leave them down and the others just vanish. I discovered that if they're relatively cheap and I have a spare or two I don't get nearly as pissed. I've literally moved everything in my reloading room to one side and then one at a time moved it to the other until I find what I misplaced. Pisses me off to no end. I left a pair of readers on the mountain where I had my tent this past deer season. They hang around my neck and I took them off to change before I packed out and left them there. At least they'll be there next year so I'll have spare glasses so I can read my GPS & rangefinder.

For Christmas my wife bought me the fishing scale and a new lure I wanted. I looked far a wide around my barn where I keep my fishing stuff. I especially wanted to find the scale so I could use it to weigh parts for a rifle I'm tinkering with. Looked for over 2 months. Finally found it last weekend. It was with my new lure and in a plastic grocery bag of odds and ends fishing stuff that was hanging in the barn.

Right where I put it, of course.

When I can't find something, my blood pressure goes up.
I remember my father having melt downs when he couldn't find something.

So I start putting things away and cleaning up.
I usually find other things that were lost.
I don't usually find what I am after that day.
But I get my blood pressure down.
