Depends on model. Can you post a pic or give more of a description? Certainly could be meopta as it was during the time they were making the euro instinct line.
You need to post pics and/or more info as Cabela's used a number of suppliers, depending on the model. Meopta would have been the supplier of the Euro and Euro Instinct, and whoever the Chi-com is that makes lower end Vortex supplied some, as well as others.
I've got their Japanese model in 8x42. Bought them at least 20 years ago. At that time they were around $500. I had a tough time making myself spend the money but after 20 plus years of a lot of use they're still going strong and the optical quality still seems better than average.
I have a pair of Cabelas Alaskan Guide Series 10X42s that are 20 y/o. When I researched who made them, the best info I could get was that they were made buy a Japanese optics firm that contracted to build glass under different brand badging to whatever specs were designated. When I called Cabelas, the answers I got were very sketchy...I got the feeling that they were purposely being very vague. The optics on that bino is incredibly good, btw. I also love that the focus is click adjustable. Others hate it. I still pack them as backups to my premium glass.
