Wife had a TV show on, background song by Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, or one of them other weenie types playing. One of those with catchy lyrics and a "nice" melody.

I can't stand it.

No No No wink

Anyone else have a good solution to that earworm problem?

Why is it, that when you get a tune stuck in your head it's always an annoying one, one you can't stand?

They tested a bunch of methods for removing earworms. The best turned out to be doing simple math problems in your head. It is theorized that earworms result from brain inactivity-- it starts idling. Doing simple math problems will get it out of idle and the earworm goes away. Keeping it away might require a ball peen hammer.

I've always found that singing ELO's "I can't get it out of my head" works for me.

BTW: If you're looking for a catchy earworm:

When Angus was in grade school, he learned it, and used to sing it incessantly.

You need a little bit of Moby Dick in your ear.

This has been my ear worm for the past couple days. If you're going to have one, make it a good one.

Administer some "smoke on the water" three times as day..

But "happiness is a warm gun"

So maybe "smoke from the barrel" would work better.
