When the FDE M&P 2.0 5" model came out and was going for $369 I got one.
The M&P 2.0 4" compact was had for $339 with three mags and night sights.
The compact replaced my G19 for carry.
The 5" with an Apex trigger is my limited minor gun.
Now they're both >$500. I've got one of each, and doubles on my Glock 9's. Heck, 3 G17s.
I shoulda bought at least two of each, and I feel bad.
😥

First things that popped into my mind was the M65 I gave $200 for, or the NIB 625 3” Lew Horton I bought for $575, the transition 4” Heavy Duty I bought for $405, or the 8 3/8 M29 Classic I passed for $400 because I didn’t want an 8 3/8.....
I could go on but I might start to cry.

My $200 police trade in 5906 keeps me tear free, but I shoulda bought backups in the M&P 2.0 line.

Came in 2nd (limited minor) at the USPSA match Thursday night with it on a few difficult "thinking" stages requiring more than "spray and pray" precision. Woulda been first, but put a foot down outside the shooting area on a stage while trying to lean too far and took a penalty. It was better than falling with a loaded gun though......

Those 5" M&P guns are shockingly accurate. I have had one for probably ten years now and my son bought one a couple years ago. And like the poster above, my 2.0 4" Compact has pushed my G19 to the back of the gun safe.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Every friend I've handed mine to at the range has been able to shoot it lights out. Damn comfortable and plenty accurate to boot. Tames hot .40s nicely.

Yeah, I carried a G19 since the 90's, and the M&P 2.0 compact kicked it to the curb in maybe three range sessions. The only thing I did to mine was hit the left side of the grip with fine sandpaper so it didn't rub me raw in the summer when carrying IWB
