20 inches of snow on much of the ground squirrel meadows. No sign of them yet.

Saw the first rock chuck Friday though. So yep, we are getting close

Spring...or global warming? we had 5 inches of snow yesterday morning at daylight, all melted off by 5 yesterday afternoon.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

The traditional sign of spring here in PA is the return of the Robins. I’ve seen several appearing in the past week or so. Little late from last year when I spotted a few on February 23.
Had several days in the past couple weeks that topped out over 50*, and the snows all gone except for the mountains.
It’s been pretty frigid the past 3 days, but flowers are poking out of the ground, so I figure spring’s pretty close. I gotta lotta reading up to do, and they’re forecasting mid 60s this week.
Wouldn’t rule out another snowstorm, but if so, it’ll be gone in a few days.
One thing about March is that you never know.

Just last week I saw my first road kill possum. That's an early sign of spring around here. But like 7mmbuster says: "one thing about March is that you never know". March could mean tee shirt weather, or having a blizzard dump a couple feet of wind blown snow.

It's 60F here but still sucks because of the wind. Coons and possums everywhere. I'll shine my spotlight out the back door at night see all kinds of eyes shining back.

Birdy, about 3 days before the Polar Vortex hit, i saw a tiny ruby crowned kinglet in the back yard.

Their appearance in the fall seems to be becoming more rare.

Do you think there's much chance it made it? So much for their ability to determine when its time to head north.
