Welp my favorite beer is Samuel Smith Imperial Stout, but at times near impossible to get, very happy to report Deschutes The Abyss is a near copy and damn easy to get, just a community FYI.

I like North Coast’s “Old Rasputin”. If you’ve tried that one does it compare?

It's good stuff Jack, IZH27, i haven't tried any North Coast brews, The Abyss goes with wild pork loin and potato from the grill like hot apple pie and vanilla ice cream.

Marinade chicken thighs in zesty Italian Dressing spiced with teriyaki sauce, pepper garlic powder and cayenne pepper, then stuff the thighs with pickled jalepenos, red bell pepper cilantro and onion, wrap with bacon and put on the grill.

Like their Black Butte Porter

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed is my favorite. I stay away from it most times until vacation.

Some of Deschutes beers are named after places I hunted. I could tell you stories about 36" mule deer..... Anyhow, why drink beer when they make whiskey? Easier on the body in moderation.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be going the opposite direction-I've tried and enjoyed Abyss on more than a few occasions.

Bend is a liberal stronghold. Pretty town, but SJWs everywhere.

Oh, 10-4, beer with meals, standing over a grill on a hot day, or an ice cold slammer after raking hay etc, 32-64 drams one half to a full cup of scotch whisky is what i have most evenings, i'm immune to that amount, so not chasing a high, just good sipping, it''s good for the blood, heart, etc and makes me sleep like a stone.
