In 1983 my ears popped up when an acquaintance said “I know where one is.” Minutes later I was on the phone to the LGS he said it was at and had a verbal ‘hold’ on it. Next day I was pickled tink to be the owner of a Ruger 77R in 358 and in 99% condition and for the going price of any Ruger 77 at that time. Deer hunted, hand loaded, and plinked with it for 12 years before making the mistake of selling it to an elk hunter that sounded like he needed and admired it as much as I did. Forward to a little over a year ago when I heard a few hundred Ruger Americans were special ordered in 358. I wasted no time grabbing one. It’s home is here. The 358 Win has been one of my favorite rounds since 1983. Last edited by Alaninga; 03/17/21.
