That would work just fine but with the 223 it would be so boring I would have to add one more for a little excitement somewhere. 257 Roy or something speedy to spice it up at least a little bit.

Not a big fan of "all around" rifles that are marginally good for a lot of things, but not particularly good at anything.

There why I said two.
With a 270, 300 Mag
270, 338WM
6.5, 300
7-08, 300 etc what could you not kill between antelope, deer, bighorn, Mtn. Goats, caribou, Kudu to Moose and not do a good job of killing it?
You can have specialized rifles for Cape Buffalo, Brown Bears, etc.

Being as I’m mainly a BG hunter my two would be a 270 Winchester and a 338 Win.

I can’t imagine living without my ARs so I’ll just put those in the “22 and 12 gauge” bracket.

.223 & .30-06. If I could have a 3rd, 7-08.

If I was limited to one, .30-06, 165gr, Not sure I really “need” more than that.

How about “all around” rifles that are perfectly adequate for most things?

I have 2 Montana’s....a 223 and a 308. Same scopes, same mounts..... I mostly hunt deer and hogs in the fall/winter/spring and shoot ground squirrels in the summer. Truth be told, I use the 223 for most of it.....I just hang onto the 308 for out of state deer hunting where the ranges may be more than 300 yards . Inside 300 I have have FULL confidence in the 223 and have proved it to myself many times over.

I have others but these are the last 2 that will ever leave and really the only 2 I use any more.

This, for the easy button.

Or, 6mmRem and 9.3x62 for the less easy button.
